How to choose the rug that fit living room decor?

Rugs are the thing that gives a unique and luxury look to a home. That is why every room requires rugs at least one. Floor Rug or any other kind of rug provide the cushion, comfort and warmth over a concrete, tile or wood floor. Also, they feed the artistic value to a room's design. You can choose the rug colours as per your walls paints and find throw pillows and paintings to complete the decor.

In this post, we will discuss how to choose the rug that fit living room decor. Just follow the rule of thumb: The area rug has to be a minimum of six inches and not more than two feet away from the wall. When you consider the different uses, shapes and design preferences, however, other factors weigh in as well.

Less is more in transitional areas or entrances that clear to separate rooms or a stairway. But the width has to match the door space or be a few inches less, not too short, not too long. If you choose the round area rug in a large foyer, centre it under the light fixture. In a hallway, pull the length to fill the space, leaving even space on both ends for balance. And if you want to place any furniture in the hallway, keep it off the rug: no half off, half on there.

For the home office, probably in the corner of a bedroom, treat it like a cocoon. Choose a floor rug that completely fits both the desk and chair to create a warm space where you will feel comfortable at work. For practical purpose, this prevents tripping or chair moving over the carpet's edges, which are the weakest part of the accessory.

The area rug has to be used as the focal point in a room. Also, it depends on your preference, a rug that will provide you with space enough for the furniture to sit on the top.

You don't want too short of a rug for the space it works. For example, in large living rooms, you can use two rugs to create two separate living areas.
Choose a rug that reaches behind the coffee table and at least beneath the first set of legs on couches or chairs.

If you prefer the rug in front of the couch, it should run the same width (or a little longer) than the sofa for a more exciting look. Try setting the rug at an angle. It has to anchor the room but not underwhelm or overpower.
